  1. I wondered if you could elaborate on the scraping technique you use. Your article mentions this is an old technique used to achieve a particular effect. When I scrape a painting it is because I am dissatisfied with what I have done and I am removing the paint to try to do it better. I am really curious to learn more about this.

    • Hi Ward, I made a short video describing the process, you can see it here. It only works on canvas, but it keeps the colors thin and works well if you want to keep control of the surface. It also helps the painting dry overnight if you like to work wet over dry, as I do sometimes.
