I’m off to Austria to paint outside in the Alps tomorrow. It will be good to get out of the studio for a bit.
Really beautiful, Marc. I love the rich colours emerging from what, at first glance, appears to be a subdued painting, in ‘Boats at Low Tide.’

Muted tones in the first painting, nearly monochromatic, contrasting tones in the second one, totally impressionist. Two great lessons.
Neat to see, I painted at Burnham Overy Staithe back in ’91, went up often with a friend. Some guy photographed me when painting outside the boathouse once and months later I found postcards of his photo in the nearby village. Poor fella, I bought about 30, he must’ve thought they were popular.
