Here are the paintings from the last week in Nova Scotia, Canada. We rented a place just outside of Mahone Bay and painted up and down the coast from Blue Rocks to Chester.

Lunenburg was a particular favorite. There was a wide selection of views in a small area, the weather was great (the food too) and the people were very friendly.

  1. I love The Picton Castle The marks used in the painting of the masts are particularly wonderful and its a great composition. It may be named after a very nice house in Pembrokeshire, west Wales. The Phillips family have a museum devoted to Graham Sutherland.
How long did it take? I can’t decide if its a painting, a sketch or both.

  2. your approach and process is very informative, I have always been influenced by the Florence School and materials they used in the more classical sense video, you used to have a video at one time?
I notice you always dip your brush into 2 small containers when using your brush, is that the balsam medium?
Hope this finds you well and safe during his crazy time,
    best
